Starting 1 January 2026, Malaysia’s Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (Solar ATAP) makes it easier for consumers to go solar while enjoying savings on their electricity bills.


Here’s what you need to know, explained simply.


What is Solar ATAP?


It’s designed for self-consumption first, with extra flexibility if you produce more energy than you use.

Application fee: RM7.50 per kW

Installation must start within 18 months after approval
